The Royal Australian Engineers Association (Vic) Inc. and 22 Engineer Regiment have a Memorandum of Understanding in place to collect, catalogue and preserve the memorabilia of Victorian Sappers both past and present for the Sappers of the future to enjoy.

Oakleigh Engineers Room
The Royal Australian Engineers Association (Vic) has use of a room that was previously occupied by the Old Sapper Association at the Oakleigh Barracks.
The room was built at the same time as the depot and was totally paid for by the Old Sapper Association for their exclusive use after the Swan St Depot was closed and relocated to Oakleigh on 3 November 1991

Combined Collections
The collections are very much a work in progress. We are always adding more items to the collections and currently we have over 2,880 items spread across the three depots, Oakleigh, Newborough and Ringwood, most have been photographed, numbered and catalogued along with their description, acquisition details and current location then have been uploaded for viewing below.

Our photo collection is extensive there are over 38,240 photos and 100 videos available as at 3 January 2023 for viewing below and more being constantly added.
Projects and Plaques
Over the years the Royal Australian Engineers Association, their predecessors and representatives have, as part of their constitution and objectives, carried out a number projects including installation of plaques, writing of History Books, restoration of heritage items, etc. These projects are on going and we will be adding to this list as they are completed.
Heritage Trail
We are currently erecting Heritage Markers throughout Victoria to form a Heritage Trail to showcase the work the Royal Australian Engineers have done for the community of Victoria
The Engineer room is only open by appointment.
